Your health is our top priority, and we appreciate the trust you place in our Occupational, Physical, Speech and ABA pediatric therapy specialists. As the number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) increases in the State of Colorado and across the U.S., we’re working hard to prevent the spread of the virus and to protect our families and community. To stay healthy, it’s important to stay informed. We wanted to take a moment to let you know what we are doing at WellCare to ensure that all of our employees and clients are safe and remain healthy. WellCare Offering Telehealth Options to Current PatientsALL IN-HOME VISITS SWITCH TO TELEHEALTH MARCH 27 WellCare is committed to ensuring the continuity of care during the COVID-19 pandemic. We've recently instituted a Telehealth model to help WellCare families and therapists during this unprecedented time to protect you and your family, WellCare patients, staff and providers. Beginning Friday, March 27, our ABA, occupational, physical and speech therapists will only be available to connect via live video as well as other telecommunications technologies. Contact us or call 719.598.5555 to make arrangements. Thank you for helping us provide your loved ones with extraordinary care! WellCare Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19:Each therapist has been provided with a mask, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. The sanitization protocols that are in place include the following.
Items that are not able to be sanitized effectively in this manner (example: carpet squares) are NOT to be used in therapy. While hand sanitizer is helpful, per the CDC, hand washing as described above, is still the best defense against this virus as well as the flu. If you or anyone in your home is coughing, sneezing or has a fever of 99 degrees or higher, therapy sessions will be rescheduled once symptoms have been resolved for at least 24 hours. WellCare offices are using these practices, as well as a fogger, for full office sanitization 3 times per week. The fogging solution is a lemon-based liquid that kills the flu virus and is currently presumed to be effective on the Coronavirus as well. Door-knobs, key pads and all therapy materials, as well as toys, are cleaned with disinfectant wipes daily. As we learn of additional precautions that would assist in keeping us all safe and healthy, those will be implemented immediately. Therapists will not attend therapy sessions if they are exhibiting any of the symptoms of the flu or the Coronavirus. Below is a link to the Centers for Disease Control website.
